Art has been a passion of mine as long as I can remember. I had the wonderful privilege of teaching elementary and middle school art for twenty-five years. After being introduced to needle felting, it became my go-to outlet for producing my own art. I’ve always loved teaching, and I especially enjoy sharing what I have learned with my students. I am so grateful for the abilities my Creator has given me, and I want to honor Him in each thing I create. It is my desire that you be blessed by my artwork as I am blessed in creating it.

My Journey with Needle Felting
In 2019, my sister introduced me to needle felting. She had taken a class taught by a coworker and was eager to share her knowledge with me. I instantly loved needle felting, and I couldn’t wait to teach it to my school students. They also fell in love with the medium, and many began creating at home as well.
When Covid hit, art in general, but needle felting specifically, brought comfort. Needle felting has truly become a blessing to me and has given me a unique way to bless others. I’m continuing to learn so much and finding joy in every minute of it!
What is Needle Felting?
It all begins with wool. There are many types of sheep, thus many types of wool, and felting can even be done with fibers from other animals. Some types of wool come together easier than others. Felting can be done with special needles or with soapy water (wet felting).
My art is done primarily with felting needles. Felting needles have special barbs, rather than an eye, that catch the wool fibers and mix them up causing them to felt. A stabbing motion is used to create either a two-dimensional “painting” on a fabric background, or a three-dimensional sculpture. What can be created with a bit of wool and barbed needles is almost limitless.
